RattleSnake - The Ahanna Story
A Must Watch!
My uncle recommended this movie and I must say it worth everything, Yeah everything, I mean the running from my hostel to Mariere complex to buy airtime for me to have data to be able to watch it on Netflix as I dug into my plate of Amala.
This is a Nigerian thriller action film directed by Ramsey Noah. It is a remake of the 1995 Rattle snake.
So, this movie is based on a gentleman who decided to carry out an amazing heist with some group of men who he knows to acquire the life he has always dreamt of.
Main characters:
STAN NZE as Ahanna Okolo
OSAS IGHODARO as Amara
BUCCI FRANKLIN as Nzenzo
EMEKA NWAGBARAOCHA as Sango
EFE IWARA as Bala
ODERA ADIMORAH as Egbe
I love this character. EGBE!!! He was amazing! His facial expressions, the tone, everything. He is my best. The way he killed smoke was brilliant. I didn’t know that was what he had in mind. He was unpredictable unlike Nzenzo. I knew Baba will want to revenge.
I will try my possible best not to give spoilers.
The main characters did great. It was so difficult to find fault in their actions and tone but Sango, hmm that was the only character that I felt would have done better.
Mechanics of the Movie:
Direction: I feel Ramsey Noah would have done better in directing the actions of Sango. It was so passive and okay but would have been great. I watched Living In Bondage: Breaking free, I know how he pulled off Toby Nworie, the brother to Nnamdi okeke.
Cinematography: I will give credit to Muhammad Atta. His photography skills was so brilliant.
Editing: 8/10.
Writing: I hate the fact that, the Ahanna story was told instead of showing it. Everything happened so fast! A spectacular heist could take some time for it to be pulled off but this was unacceptable. The character development for Ahanna & Amara, is a No No! I felt Amara was made to act dumb cause why wouldn’t she know that Ahanna was playing her. She was always the one expressing feelings and all that. The unpleasant love story between both of them wasn’t developed.
Soundtrack: The songs from the Zoro, The cavemen, Laary Gaaga retained the Igbo charm in the 1995 Rattlesnake. Nice choice of music too from Patoranking, Davido & 2face.
Moral Lessons:
1) Don’t kill your mummy o, it’s better you run.
2) Don’t carry belle for person wey you no even sure if e go accept you or marry you.
3) Know a bit of tech, it helps.
Ratings: PG13.
I will give this movie a 90%.
Enjoy!🍿
