Fatherhood 2021
LOSS & LOVE
I was quietly regretting and eating the sharwarma I bought when I was watching this movie. The sharwarma was tasting sour, my teeth was in a war with each other. I could not even find the chicken in it.
This movie is based on a man who raised his daughter after his wife died a day after their daugher’s birth , starring Kevin Hart and Melody Hurd.
Main Characters:
KEVIN HART as Matthew Logelin
MELODY Hurd as Maddy Logelin
DEBORAH AYORINDE as Liz Logelin
LIL REL HOWERY as Jordan
ALFRE WOODARD as Marian
ANTHONY CARRIGAN as Oscar
DEWANDA WISE as Swan
MECHANICS OF THE MOVIE:
Direction: Well Kevin Hart is good at venting, showing pains and frustration, aggravation, irritation and many more. He anchored this character well but, what was the use of comedy in the movie? To be honest, I watched the movie because of Melody Hurd, nothing else. I wanted to see more of her after I saw her in ‘Them series’. I got tired of the unnecessary jokes. His wife wasn’t even laid and her mother already wants to take care of Hurd herself, to show that he was incompetent. I should not even go further talking about his clueless friends.
Cinematography: It was really nice. 7/10
Editing: 7/10.
Writing: The humor in the script made it stale.
Soundtrack: 4/10
Matt’s stubbornness was unnecessary. What’s the whole idea behind maddy not wearing the appropriate school uniform? For a black community....
This movie struck me with the idea that if you’re being taken care of by a single father, and you’re a girl child there is a high tendency , let’s say a 60-70%, that you would want to dress like a boy. Maddy wore briefs throughout the movie!!
The whole movie didn’t blow my mind.
Moral Lessons:
1.) It’s not too late to love again.
2.) Believe in yourself, because if nobody believes in you, who else will believe in you?
Ratings: PG13. It’s a 50%
Enjoy!🍿
