Atypical(Netflix Series 2017-2021)

Normal is overrated.

This series is an American comedy-drama centred on Sam Gardener, an 18 year old autistic boy, who wants to start dating and yeah, he did. He found love.

Direction: I liked the way the series was developed. I got to see more autistic people like Sam as I watched. It wasn’t making any sense to me when he was the only one going through the autism spectrum. 

Cinematography: 8/10

Soundtrack: The songs used were soft, sweet and tuneful. 

Sam is this person that would do anything and get away with it because you wouldn’t want to do anything that will affect his condition or make him feel bad in general, forgetting that this same character is bluntly honest. He is freaking creative and curious. He always ask questions and jots the answers. He is obsessed with Penguins, Antarctica and South pole. 

Since he was the older brother to Casey, why was he always going to her to collect his lunch money? He should be able to have his lunch money, probably in between his ‘jotting book’. Well, his little sister is looking after him. 

Zahid is one friend that would tell you how to sin and get into hell fire real quick. He tells you how to do something and after you’ve done it, it fails, he tells you the consequences. He is Sam’s bestfriend. He likes having sex with random women and brags about it to sam who doesn’t even have any experience at all. Until he discovered that he has cancer. 

Bloody hell, who would see boobs for the first time and draw it? My dear Sam did. 

Casey is one powerful character. I agree with Izzie, she’s special. She’s being liked by anybody that comes her way. She doesn’t hesitate to read anyone the riot act even if it’s her mum. 

Elsa was too loose to fall for Nick. What was charming about that bartender? 

Moral Lessons:

1.) Don’t cheat and lie.

2.) If Sam can find love, you can find love.

3.) Don’t be like Zahid. Don’t fornicate!

4.) Friendship matters.

Rating: PG13

I will give this series, a big 90%.
